This Week in Neo Tokyo
Amidst the neon-lit landscape of Neo Tokyo, the past week has been a whirlwind of activity, progress, and unity. Builders and visionaries from every corner of the metaverse have converged here, tirelessly working on their projects and sharing resources to bring innovation to new heights. An exciting new era dawns upon The Citadel, as aspiring citizens compete for a chance to serve on the newly established council.
July Town Hall Highlights
In the July Town Hall, essential updates were shared concerning divisions and the Citizen Founder projects. As mentioned in last weeks issue, the eagerly awaited minting of IDs, item caches, and land will make a comeback for BYTES holders. Though no specific timeframe was provided, the feature's return seems somewhat in the forefront of our leaders minds. Both Becker and Firestorm have emphasized the need for a careful implementation to avoid impacting the price of Neo Tokyo NFT collections.
Leaders Wanted: Apply Today!
What grabbed the headlines though was the announced revamping of the NT Leads structure. The new structure contains 10 Leads and up to 14 positions on the freshly formed NT Community Council, which will act in a supporting role to the Leads team.
The goals stated for the Leads and Council are:
Enable collaboration with the community to grow Neo Tokyo and realize its mission and vision.
Bridge the gap between the founders’ vision and the community’s needs.
Support ideation and execution of the most impactful and beneficial ideas and projects.
If you have a vision for Neo Tokyo and wish to contribute to The Citadel's realization of its full potential, this is your chance to step up! There is one position available on the Leads team and up to ten positions on the Council. Applications are open now until the end of the day on August 14 (apply here.)

Gen3 Magazine Launches, Telling the Story of Web3
A Team of Citizens Help Print Media Come Back to Life
Print is dead. Or is it?
Last year, No.3 Media decided it was time to bring print back to life, and they wanted to use blockchain to do it. Mark, the founder of No.3, teamed up with Patrick from Agami Co., Sarah at TokenPr, and a host of other advisors to bring print to the era of Web3.
This weekend web3 insiders got the first sneak peak of the premier issue at the CryptosRUs party in Las Vegas. Many attendees of the event were also featured in the magazine including Brian D. Evans, George Tung, Jett Tang, executive producer of The Next Crypto Gem, and more. The event was a who’s who in crypto and the first issue was received with rave reviews.

Citizen block_editor is the Managing Editor and Director of the magazine, and she recruited several members of the Neo Tokyo News Team and her company, TokenPR.com to manage the content of the first issue. Phoenixxdown, ZeHI, DamonNeedsToCreate, FlawlessBoltX, NFT$Degen, Flower83, and Shamsi all contributed their talents to the magazine to help tell the story of Web3. The magazine’s cover features the renowned citizen, Brian D. Evans.
In addition to the team and features, Dr. JPEG, Firestorm, Bing, Danor, ReadyPlayerH, Xenophan, and Hustlepedia all made the 40 under 40 list.
But this won’t be the magazine of the 90’s we all remember. In order to tell the story of Web3, people need to experience the power of it. GeN3 magazine will showcase multiple interactive features that will be expanded upon with each issue.

Shorter Work Weeks in Web3
Since this is summer and we should all be taking care of ourselves, enjoying the grass beneath our feet, it is a good time to do an evaluation of what is eating up our time and attention. Here are a few steps that can help you focus your time while still working toward that lifestyle supporting financial freedom:
Reassess What is Drawing Your Attention
I know a lot of people have pared down their servers and NFTs throughout this bear. There might still be a few communities that you have been spending your time with. Now is the time to take a look at what you set out to get from those communities, and compare that to what they have given you over the past year. Maybe it is time to cut ties, take a break, or just limit your visits to that space to a set amount of time per week.

Is AI the Natural Evolution of Game Development?
Some would argue that the gaming industry is undergoing a transformative shift with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Use of this technology is not just a fleeting trend but an evolution that's reshaping how games are developed and experienced.
Several advanced AI techniques have become staples in game development. Pathfinding algorithms, for instance, help characters navigate efficiently, while decision trees determine NPC behaviours. Neural networks, modeled after the human brain, allow for intricate decision-making, and procedural content generation automates the creation of diverse game content.
The benefits of AI in game development are manifold. It enhances gameplay dynamics, offers cost and time efficiency, personalizes the gaming experience and introduces innovative game mechanics.
Platforms like Unity have introduced tools called Muse, which aids developers with text and visual content generation, and Sentis, which embeds AI models directly into the Unity runtime.
Games like "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", "Alien: Isolation", and "Red Dead Redemption 2" have already effectively harnessed AI to offer immersive experiences. For instance, Skyrim's Radiant AI system allows NPCs to make independent decisions, while the Xenomorph in "Alien: Isolation" employs a two-tiered AI system for unpredictable behavior.
However, the integration of AI in game development is not without its controversy. Balancing AI and human creativity is crucial. Some fear that over-reliance on AI might stifle innovation, leading to homogenised gaming experiences. Ethical concerns, especially regarding data usage and potential copyright infringements, are also rife.
The future of AI in gaming looks promising. Predictive analytics will offer personalized challenges, and the rise of generative AI tools will democratize game development.
The gaming industry is on the brink of an AI evolution promising richer and more dynamic gaming experiences that blur the lines between virtual and reality.
