This Week In Neo Tokyo:
The UAEC Works Hard, But We Work Harder

We kick off this week with a big congrats to the OG of the citadel, Kyle Wilson, who's now the latest inductee to the Neo Tokyo Stream Team. Kyle helped kick off the original NT Stream Team many months ago, and many other OGs will remember his live coverage of the Outer Citizen PUBG wars back in early 2022.

In case you missed it, you can catch up on Kyle’s re-debut here where he streams Nyan Heroes.

Kyle also gave props this week to the NT Merch Team, who have continued to receive glowing feedback on their products and service. Another shoutout came from Chr0nicle, who spoke very highly of the limited edition Sukajan Bomber jacket, which seems to be a big favorite among citizens. You can get yours here.

It's been an extremely content-heavy week on all fronts, even by our high standrads. Doctors of Degeneracy, ButWouldYa, Shamsi, and ZeHI were joined by Ryan of Virtue Poker, despite technical issues (likely a frequency attack by you-know-who) plaguing the broadcast and trying to shut them down. The UAEC works hard, but we work harder, because the show went on.

It was a bloody shame the UAEC didn’t do a better job as the team caught my unceremonious exit from the Neo Tokyo News x Virtue Poker tournament that was being hosted at the time. As BWY said, 9th isn’t bad! As Shamsi correctly remarked also though, finishing one place outside the final table is vintage PhoenixxDown. Keep an eye out for future special tournaments coming up so we can crumble together. 🤝

Block editor was joined on Meet Your Citizens by Mr. Builder. And indeed, builder by name, builder by nature, evidenced by the exploration into his journey from Retail Management into becoming a founding member of the NT Research Division, now focusing on Leads tasks and proposals.

The NFT Market Monday crew was joined by special guest Jojo, founder of Castle of Blackwater. Discussion topics covered included what last week's market dip playbook was, AI coins, whether memecoin mania is moving to Base, and of course, a spotlight on Castle of Blackwater to find out more about this game that’s been turning lots of heads lately. Listen back to the recording here.

The AMA team was red hot too, delivering multiple AMAs and interviews all week. It makes you wonder, is there actually anywhere better than The Citadel for this type of broad web3 content? Is there anything we don’t do well? Aside from two-week deadlines, I think not.

Episode #22 of Interlinked featured the team being joined by Jake Warriner, founder, and Chairman of Metaverse HQ. MVHQ is an exclusive NFT community focused on technology and innovation by cultivating the best talent, products, and education in the Web3 space. Key discussions included topics such as royalties, the new NFT metas, memecoins, and a deep dive into Metaverse HQ itself.

On to the plethora of X Space AMAs; first up was BitBrawl - billed as Web3's answer to Super Smash Bros. Hard to see how that won’t do well based on that info alone! Listen back here.

Next was Darrel Wijaya, Developer and Co-Founder of Creo engine. Creo Engine is a premiere web3 gaming ecosystem with a comprehensive platform, tools, and top-tier web3 games, all within a unified gaming hub. Listen back here.

And then there was ForeverTipsy.eth, the founder and CEO of The Tipsy Company, live with the AMA team to chat about what they’re up to, including the two mobile games they are developing: Gate of Abyss and Nova Frontier. Listen back here.

Yet more AMAs! Citcap hosted the minds behind one of our most recent investment opportunity’s, Gaimin, where they discussed the project and business model, the upcoming token launch, deal terms, and some other areas of interest. Listen back here.

And Neo Tokyo was also featured as guest speakers on X Spaceswith eesee.io and on the Poglin Mega Space.

Taking us out for the week is ZeHI, who has some important Mental Health Bytes to take heed of.

Until next week, citizens.

Castle of Blackwater, a Merit Circle incubation gaming project, is gearing up for their $COBE TGE going live imminently today!

Public beta is currently live on Elixir Game Launcher, with play2airdrop campaign and referral bonusses.

$TRUMP: Memecoin 2.0?

In recent weeks, crypto traders have once again degend into memecoins. Hundreds of millions worth of ETH, SOL, and various other altcoins were deposited to access pre-sales and traded on DEXs.

Among the myriad projects, one stood out to me a few months ago: MAGA Memecoin ($TRUMP). This project, led by a doxed team, has introduced a new crypto category known as PolyFi. The token is linked to the good and bad performance of politicians, in this case the notably former US President Donald J. Trump.

Although the token was launched in August 2023, it gained significant traction only in January, with its price surging by +4000%, peaking at $11.5 on March 4 during Super Tuesday week. The community-owned token was initiated through a fair launch, wherein 100% of the tokens were minted and added to deploy the liquidity pool.

Furthermore, for each transaction (buy, sell, transfer), the team applies a 1% transaction fee. This tax is allocated towards marketing, development, liquidity, and donations. To date, the team has contributed 199.5 ETH to United States Veterans and 169.25 ETH to Child Trafficking Prevention initiatives.

The team, led by Shawn Farash and Steven Steele, is highly active in the Telegram community and hosts their weekly Xspace sessions. Block_Editor and I had the pleasure of hosting Steven as a guest on our 30th episode of How I Met Web3. If you missed it and want to learn more about $TRUMP and the Maga movement, catch up below:

I labeled this token as a potential “Memecoin 2.0” and despite having a tokenomics, a launch strategy, and a community vibe typically associated with memecoins, certain aspects elevate it to a different category, such as having a doxed team (something I have never seen before.)

According to Steven, and also in my personal opinion, this token shows promise, especially if Trump were to become the 47th US President. It could act as a solid hedge against the market in case of a downturn during Q3 and Q4 this year, potentially reaching a $1 billion market cap.

While I personally don’t follow memecoins, and I won't recommend buying one, there’s a question to ponder—is this token truly a memecoin, or does it represent a new crypto movement that will onboard politics into the Web3 space? It’s still early to say so, but keeping an eye on it wouldn’t hurt.

  • Outside Interests: Gaming

While BlockChainMeta attended school for electrical and computer engineering, he approached his education from a business and networking perspective, choosing the path with the smartest crowd. It was actually late night TV advertisements after a long lab session at college that set him on his path.

He became engulfed in the world of making money online, studying SEO, affiliate programs, and other online monetization options. One of his first projects was a website that got a fairly high rank on Google that he eventually exited for 5 figures. This was while he was still attending college and he decided there are absolutely legitimate ways to make a buck online.

While still in college he started a second company; a website about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a popular topic at the time on campus. He spoke with a bunch of friends and began to have them build how-to content for the game. So with a $90 capture card as investment, they started creating content and using social media to promote it. This led to a position as a growth hacker, and various other marketing projects.

This is where his studies finally came into play. Most marketers were spending hours googling information. BlockChainMeta simply wrote the Python script to scrape websites and gather data. This eventually led to an SEO company that helped many businesses move up in the search rankings. Next he started his own marketing agency and had been able to help his clients reach over a combined $100M in sales.

It was about 2014 when he first discovered Bitcoin. He had a unique friend that made the introduction and decided to buy in. He took profits and started to move into the Ethereum ecosystem. This story didn’t go quite so well as he had a wallet of about 100 ETH at the time, and through various investments that went south dwindled it down to very little.

Alex Becker was BlockChainMeta’s intro into The Citadel. It was through studying HYROS for marketing purposes that he stumbled on to our fearless leader. “So when I heard about New Tokyo, I was like, okay, I'm interested,” BlockChainMeta said. Not having time for the riddles, he decided to wait till after mint and pick one up on secondary. Big Mistake. The floor kept rising and made it all the way to ~$30,000 before he decided to pull the trigger.

Presently, BlockChainMeta spends most of his time on onchainmarketer.com, a community he’s been building for the last year and a half. The idea is to have a 24/7 marketing think tank at your fingertips. Their members run the spectrum of X growth experts, to skilled copywriters. They also have memberships for founders who can give access to their marketing team so they can exchange ideas with other marketers as part of the program. The project is currently invite only, so if any founders or marketers want in they should reach out to BlockChainMeta directly.

As far as a few hot tips to get started in marketing, BlockChainMeta says to narrow the focus. Being niche oriented will attract the right audience and be extremely useful for project growth.

Within Neo Tokyo, many might not know that BlockChainMeta actually provided a lot of the liquidity for BYTES so that others could buy and sell. He even started to make content on how to earn interest providing liquidity. In addition he continued to make content that helped people navigate some of the obstacles of being in The Citadel. It's something he is still proud of to this day. You may also recognize him from the first founders roundtable with Becker, and of course now, The Council.

Always wanting to contribute more to Neo Tokyo, he joined The Council in order to provide more influence over the Citadel as a whole. There were a lot of stand-offs in the beginning with smart minds and bright ideas, but no authority to do anything. So when Firestorm became project manager and then the formation of the leads and Council, he saw an opportunity to start making things happen.

Outside the walls of The Citadel, BlockChainMeta enjoys gaming. He’s spent a lot on games like Brawl Stars and POE and the experience is really what drew him to this world in the first place. In addition to video games he enjoys playing traditional board games. With friends scattered around the globe, he uses Board Game Arena where he can host games with a group online. He also enjoys playing tennis when he finds the time.
