This Week In Neo Tokyo:
Your Favorite Newsletter

We welcomed two powerful forces into The Citadel this past week: the metaverse casino, Decentral Games, and Creo Engine, the one-size-fits-all gaming hub. Be sure to give our new friends a warm welcome.

Moving from warm welcomes to a much-awaited return, Shibuya Mall is now back open for business and looking better than ever. Where better to spend your ill-gained shitcoin gains than on the fantastic merchandise offered at our beloved shopping centre? Stay tuned for more details about what’s on offer, along with exclusive deals for citizens, coming soon in your favorite newsletter.

March saw the 21st—yes, the 21st—Neo Tokyo Townhall take place. As you know, Law #3 states: “Classified Citadel Knowledge is to remain classified,” so you’ll have to listen to the recording to get the latest updates. We’ll tell you this though; there’s BYTES news, and it’s terrible for those of you who love paying triple digit gas fees to claim.

NFT Market Monday was a nice, relaxed affair, with the usual hosts joined this week by Jeff Treves, founder of BirthMark, and myself, who was wheeled in to discuss the latest in the world of Ordinals. Topics included the future of ETH NFTs, airdrop updates, and memecoin culture. Listen back here.

On Degen Digest, ZeHI, Shamsi, and ButWouldYa were joined by Lord Protector, Metro, in a special episode focused on safety in Web3. You can never be too careful, especially now, and as business picks up, scammers will increase their efforts to separate you from your assets. Catch up on this must-watch episode.

Episode #20 of Interlinked featured the one and only Jamie Thomson, CEO of Vulcan Forged. VF has been hailed as one of the most exciting prospects of the upcoming gaming bull run. If you've somehow missed out on all the hype so far, this episode is perfect for you to find out why.

Until next week, citizens.

Bytes Chart: March Update

Neo Tokyo's digital fortress grows stronger as we unite to shape the future of gaming. Our currency, BYTES, powers this vision, proving its worth as the community's lifeblood. Those seeking to leverage crypto gaming opportunities for gains against ETH find value in acquiring BYTES.

Let’s take a look at key support levels.

March monthly Pivots in USD:

  • Support 2: $4.52

  • Support 1: $8.12

  • Central Pivot 🧲: $11.49

  • Resistance 1: $15.36

The current liquidity depth is $14k for every 2% price movement. Ideally, this figure should rise as we approach support levels in ETH value.

As we close this update on the BYTES token, let's remember the collective effort of Neo Tokyo's citizens, who are tirelessly building value in our unified digital city. Together, we're not just creating a currency; we're forging a community and an economy that stands out in the crypto gaming world. Here's to continued growth and innovation in our shared journey.

These pivot charts are not meant to predict anything but they can be used to assess risks and opportunities in the market. Catalysts can affect the price of BYTES in unexpected ways. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out on Discord at Steven-T or on Twitter @neotokyocat.

Can Using Binance Smart Chain Make You Rich?

This week, Binance announced that they will be doing a retroactive airdrop for its users. This came as quite a shock to many, since the idea of showering users with a token that had its TGE years ago is kind of unprecedented.

It is always fascinating when you get free stuff for being an early adopter. But in this airdrop farming meta, people generally avoid using L2 chains that have been around for literally years and already have a token, like Polygon, BSC, Arbitrum and Optimism. Instead, airdrop farmers focus on pushing transactions on tokenless chains like zkSync, Linea, Scroll, Base, and lately more niche ones, like Mode and Blast.

Well, the game is apparently changing in this regard, as airdrop mania reaches peak levels and every project rushes to capitalize on the trend.

So, what do we know so far?

On 13th March, Binance released a twitter thread explaining that they started their “Airdrop Alliance Program” and it looks like users of both the BNB chain, as well as opBNB (optimism BNB) chain, will be eligible for an airdrop.

Given the size and popularity of BSC, and the insanely high market cap of BNB (as a top 5 coin), this could be one of the biggest airdrops in history.

Other than that, not much is known, but it is safe to assume that the amount of allocation for the airdrop will be based on recent on-chain activity. It is also safe to assume that the token people will get is $BNB, since Binance themselves still hold a MASSIVE amount of BNB, which you can view on blockchain scanners such as bscscan.com and view who the top holders are.

They are also burning the supply each quarter and have been doing so for years. The burn mechanism is based on BNB's price and the number of blocks generated on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) during the quarter.

Wouldn't it be sweet if instead they would start distributing these tokens to the community?

I am very excited about this one, but generally cautiously optimistic. It could turn out to be just peanuts, or it could be a significant chunk of money given to users who did not even expect it.

Keep an eye on this one, see you next week.
