Encrypted Ping from the Deep Grid

A message pulsed through the static…. source unknown, signature unmistakable.

“The Whisperer's soul persists.” He’s still out there, running code and facilitating shadow comps for those worthy enough to chase the sweet scent of Bytes.

Another puzzle is imminent. Tune your scanners. Stay sharp.

Get Your Bholes Ready For $BLACK

I usually FUD stuff.

A lot.

Mostly airdrops, too.

But this week I want to give respect, where it is due.

The $BLACK launch was, all things considered, one of the smoothest in recent history, especially in the world of airdrops.

Its price today also reflects that, as it is almost 3x-ed since I full-clip-sold my entire stack, thinking it will follow the same patterns as all of the other airdrops I usually get. I shoulda believed in something I guess. NGMI.

Anyway, by all metrics this launch was successful. There is tons of unique wallet activity, the TVL surpassed $50m in less than a week:

And perhaps most importantly, the price is going parabolic. This is a very telling sign.

It is always a good indicator of success, when a project’s price starts going up violently after TGE.

It’s actually a rare occasion in this crypto space recently. Last time I recall this happening was with $HYPE. There is a period, when “the jeets are out and chads come in” and when the initial FUD dies out, and people start using the product, it is revealed what the market truly thinks of it. The feedback is instant, honest and organic. The price always tells a story and the markets never lie.

And apparently in the case of $BLACK, the people like it a lot.

We are seeing tons of activity, whales FOMO-ing in, people trying out different pools, discussing strategies, voting on stuff; it truly is flourishing as a live ecosystem buzzing with all sorts of hype.

This Week In Neo Tokyo:
I Was Advised To Change The Title Of This Article

I’m bored with the current format of TWINT.

Flower gets to write all these articles fudding everything that moves, having all the fun, but it’s the same old for me week in, week out. Important for the people who miss the daily going-ons of The Citadel, and if it serves you well then I love that, but let me cook something different for one week here for my own sanity.

This week in Neo Tokyo, I’ve noticed a major uptick in complaining.

I went through my own little phase of it in our first year. I highly regret that phase now, even if I did get absolutely shafted on Vaults (long story, since somewhat resolved.) It doesn’t help. It’s just an exercise in public humiliation, you are the one inflicting it upon yourself, and generally nothing changes anyway.

Important to note the following is aimed at nobody in particular. I can't remember any of the names I’ve seen the following from, but it’s made me cringe a little every time I’ve read one of these comments.

“Becker and Ellio don't CARE ABOUT US anymore.”

For the love of God, please stop this. Read it back, breathe the essence of it in, and then contact your doctor on how to raise those T levels. If you’re married or have a partner, do not let them catch you saying this, you wouldn’t recover.

“I missed the form, it makes no sense that I am a Citizen and don’t get allo to Blackhole.”

No. Hard disagree. It takes next to nothing to check the announcement channels once every few days.

For practically the entirety of NT’s existence, Citizens have all got an equal bite of the cherry when it came to WL and investment opportunities. Working in a division for NT, for example, gives no extra chances in raffles or higher $ amount to invest in CitCap - THANK GOD for that last one, as it turned out.

Should it though? Arguably so. Exo did it a few times when he was about, but all the same, no one complains that it’s not the standard today.

And there’s no one more active or committed to NT, for the most part, than Citizens actively involved in Divisions, aside from notable outliers featured in Short Scoops each week.

But then came the Blackhole airdrop, where all a mf had to do was click an Alphabot button. I’ve missed loads, it sucks (37 $BYTES staked away from an airdrop earlier this year lmao), but you just crack on.

Let the astute and dedicated have this one. Leave us alone in peace.

“Becker doesn't even come into the chat.”

Becker used to come in the chat. It’s a nice feature if you want that, but does it move the needle? It didn’t before. In fact, he told many to fuck their mothers, which to be fair moved the needle alright but not in the direction you’re hoping for.

Truly, if a founder is chatting all day in Discord or on X, you should be bailing out of that community immediately because they have too much time on their hands. And if you want just a few hellos every now and again, I ask you, for what end?

I’m not going to go down the route of “Neo Tokyo is what you make it, create your own value blah blah blah” because that’s said a lot and we all know it. But I will say, if you’re pinning your hopes of NT’s success solely on Ellio and Becker, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news.

Seeking hope in Ellio’s sustained public-facing involvement, and looking to Becker for emotional support, is akin to surviving Hiroshima and then running straight to Nagasaki for refuge.

That’s not to say they’re not cooking, I actually have silly blind faith that the best is yet to come, but don’t use it as a reason to be here or not.

“Becker said he’s leaving at the end of this cycle. It’s over for us.”

Some sold their BYTES on this “news.” Insectoid behavior. Genuinely makes me nauseous to envision the panic the weak felt when they saw this and smashed the red button, shaking, eyes darting all about the place.

The person who sells on this “news” is a palm frond floating in the breeze; of no substance whatsoever. A weak-wristed nowhere man. A boy. A mere child larping as an investor. They are worthy of nothing but your utter contempt.

Plainly, you should worry if Felix leaves, or if TRPT sells, or if Crasher gets an offer to make merch on an industrial scale for some huge manufacturer, or if Firestorm gets poached by Pudgys.

Plenty more. Ktrap or Sven find a new project to love, Seize writes up the lore for a Blue Chip, Neo Tokyo News disbands. Jeff Treves, Cryptoetheus, Fauve, Chr0n, Nox, LeBoom, Fractillians, I could go on, how many other projects have names like ours that AREN’T the founders?

Becker saying he’s leaving at the end of this bull run does not spell the end of Neo Tokyo. He might not even mean NT. And if he does, 1) study Neo Tokyo in Q2 of 2022 when we enacted martial law and temporarily CTO’d ourselves, and 2) do you think he’s not going to sell it or hand it off to someone competent?

Unless you really love this space so much it's all you can think about, you should have the same plan as Becker.

I do. I’m gonna be so out of here, man, and I endeavour to take as much loot as I can carry with me. Far away from the attention starved C-Tier KOLs on X hallucinating they’re celebrities, churning out AI slop engagement bait 10 times a day for a few Yaps.

Back to the usual format next week. $BYTES to $200 or I’m gay.

The Game Is On

It's back on.

We (well, probably not me, but some of you anyway) are going to eat well. You know how they say “90% of your gains from any crypto cycle is made in the last 10% of its duration?”

Well, this might just be true this time around as well.

I hope y’all have been collecting cool points, because ETH actually surpassed $3500 this week. Which means that Becker’s memecoin is actually going to happen. It was a bit hard to believe it would launch this cycle, when ETH was $1,4k just a few weeks ago, but here we are.

The way you acquire cool points is usually by liking and sharing his posts and the cool points will matter. A whitelist form will appear on Alex Becker’s X randomly in a few days, and if you are among the first to subscribe, you will be put into the eligibility raffle, where factors such as cool points, and apparently also your X and Youtube accounts matter. You just simply have to be cool, I guess.

The bad news is that if you haven't been farming the cool points, consistency will likely matter a lot. The good news is that you can still qualify if you hustle a bit.

Apparently there are still 4–5 big allocations, and 30–50 small ones to give away. For perspective, if the memecoin runs to $100m, the small allocations will get you approximately $10k, and big ones $100k.

Over the next couple of weeks Becker will be doing streams & contests to fully fill those spots. When the coin drops, you'll have 24 hours to claim your coins, so there is no rush to FOMO click on links and get drained. And with that; also, obviously, beware of scams.

For more info, details on the drop, currently whitelisted wallets and official breakdown of rules visit https://www.alexbecker.gg/meme-updates.

If you miss all of it, there is also still hope. Becker has been hinting at another project he has lined up after this memecoin drop, and it is said it will be even crazier.

I’d say it's time to really, FULLY lock in right now. And stay tuned for opportunities.

The game is on.
