As Web3 gaming moves beyond speculation and toward more meaningful, playable experiences, Dæmons is offering a model worth watching.

By combining Tamagotchi-era nostalgia with blockchain infrastructure and AI, the result is a personalised, omnichain game where players’ on-chain activity is used to generate unique digital companions, known as Dæmons. These creatures evolve through gameplay and user engagement, with each one tailored to its owner’s blockchain history.

Launching across Polygon, SonicLabs, Base, Monad, Soneium, and Ancient8 for Open Beta, Dæmons is built with future expansion in mind. Mainnet plans include support for Abstract and more.

Powered by LayerZero, the game enables seamless cross-chain interactions, letting players train, evolve, and battle their Dæmons across networks without friction.

Earlier this week, the initial creative integration with Neo Tokyo was announced, kicking off with the exclusive Neo Raptor. This custom Dæmon, equipped with the “Cybernetic Frenzy” ultimate move, is only mintable by Neo Tokyo Citizens and Outer Citizens. Its design nods to our rock-solid foundation of community builder culture and crypto-native roots.

Neo Tokyo will also be represented through a dedicated Clan link, allowing Citizens to earn tournament achievements and compete under a shared banner. This feature goes live for the Open Beta on May 25, with more planned post-Mainnet.

Ahead of the launch, Neo Tokyo members also received a points boost on May 23, giving early adopters a head start!

For more context on the integration and the thinking behind Dæmons, founder Josh joined the NT AMA Division for a deep dive into the project’s goals, the Neo Raptor, and what lies ahead:

Recent updates from Dæmons’ X account detail a new achievement system to incentivise continued play, as well as fresh partnerships with teams like Kitaro World and XBorg; a sign that the project is carving out its place not just as a game, but as a networked, interoperable platform for Web3-native play.

The now-completed closed alpha showcased the PvP engine, with testers praising its strategic depth and combo system (moves like “Attack → Shill → Attack → Ulti” featured heavily).

Dæmons also won Season 1 of Ancient8’s Grant Program, pointing to growing industry recognition and its intent to challenge legacy play-to-earn models with a “fun-first” approach.

Now entering its testnet phase, Dæmons is building momentum with a mix of AI-powered PvE, PvP tournaments, and interactive AI agents. With more features on the way and a growing community, it’s shaping into one of the more distinctive experiments in blockchain gaming: one where customisation, culture, and actual gameplay take centre stage!
