NFTuesday

Back in the day, this was my favourite type of format for an article.

The OG’s might remember. While we all kinda knew that the party was ending (and nobody sold), it really seemed like NFTs would retain some sort of attention/ engagement/ liquidity.

But no, sadly, the bubble burst quite violently and we never really came back. Nowhere near the peak of where we were in the first bullrun. NFTs are still, to this day, my favourite sector of crypto and I’d be delighted if we saw a second “season.” Actually, I’d even take a short relief rally, to be honest.

These days, the tides seem to be shifting a bit, and while I believe we still have quite a ways to go, it does have to begin somewhere, right? You know how they say “slowly, then all at once.”

Recently we have seen somewhat of a renewed interest in NFTs and I think the time is right to go over some recent developments in that ecosystem.

First off, the volume is kinda, sorta, maybe back.

This week both Blur and OpenSea reached almost 15k ETH traded, which is the same amount of volume we were pulling a year ago in an entire month.

With $ETH’s price much lower, too. Some of it might be fake or propped up by wash traders farming OpenSea’s upcoming token, but still, I hope it is not just a one-off or something that will start dying out again soon.

Because with all that volume, also comes an increase in floor prices across the board.

The entire NFT landscape has been in “up-only” mode this month, with its combined market cap pushing beyond $7B for the first time in months.

Another indicator that NFTs might be on the brink of waking up was the recent CryptoPunks sweep.

Additionally, there are collections, like BAYC and Pudgys that seem to be moving up with no bullish news on the horizon, but based off of true organic demand coming back to NFTs in general.

Lastly, and this might even matter tho most in a way, is that ETH itself is likely to go for new ATH’s. This recent pump and decoupling from a long and painful downtrend against BTC is a genuinely bullish indicator for all ecosystems built on top of Ethereum - including NFTs.

This ETH/BTC chart is beautiful recently:

One last thing that is worth mentioning is that now there are no lies left to tell.

Lets face it, the NFT bubble had to burst. Back in 2022 there were simply too many hyped projects with no PMF, malicious rugs, or overpriced mints spurred up by incompetent teams and greedy founders. The “WAGMI Era” was full of this. Now, most projects that were bullshit to begin with crumbled away by the weights of time.

In a way, only the true ones remain; those with solid foundations and those that had sincere intentions about building something of true value in the NFT space.

This is bullish because now the “real ones” get the attention they deserve without being overshadowed by bad actors pretending to build but only have max extraction on their minds.

Additionally, the holders are much more selective these days. We don't just get as easily swept up by the hype around the projects as we did back then. If you are a founder looking to raise money through a mint these days, you better show some quality and deliver on promises, otherwise your collection will not mint out in full.

All things considered; it might still take a while so let's not celebrate too early but I’d say that the road ahead is truly bright.

And I am happy I get to share this story with all of you <3

Cya next week.

This Week In Neo Tokyo:
$BYTES Will Replace the Nord Stream Pipeline

Right then. Back to the usual format after last week’s crashout issue.

LeBoomington dropped a fire trailer for a Neo Tokyo anime, and it features some familiar faces in Photoshopped AF, Fractillians, Seize, and LeBoom himself, along with a host of UAEC goons, one getting punched in the face (as it should be.)

Citadel Stories is coming soon. Keep up with the latest updates by following the NTV X account:

Post-Bhole airdrop now and into Epoch 2, and many have been trying to figure out the best way of playing the voting game. Do I understand what is happening? Absolutely not. I’m just casting my vote and praying for a positive resolution.
