This Week In Neo Tokyo:
We Were In On It All Along!

“Are we riddling again?” we asked last week, knowing full well that was a rhetorical question - because we were in on it all along! Yes we were riddling again, and riddle we did all week long.

Everything came to a dramatic conclusion on Tuesday when The Sentinel ARG was confirmed to be the workings of [the Guardians formerly known as] MintDefense behind it. But not only that, a star studded line-up of who’s who on their Advisory Board! Who else popped for that Vidar reveal?!

If you missed it, there's a lot to cover - certainly too much for this segment. We urge you to join the Discord if you haven't already and watch the recording of the AMA for all the details. Many changes are happening, and an investment opportunity went live yesterday that you can get involved in right now.

A wild Orangie has arrived in The Citadel! News broke that the content creator has officially joined Neo Tokyo, not just as an Outer Citizen, but as a Stream Team partner! An absolute massive acquisition for us, and we look forward to seeing him on Twitch later this week.

Firestorm was back for a second Shrapnel playtest. When not laying the smacketh down on his opponents, he was giving away 50 Extraction Packs to viewers. Make sure you're tuned into the next one for a shot at the giveaway.

Magic Eden has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the never-ending marketplace wars. They made a huge announcement this past Wednesday with the introduction of the Magic Eden Creators Alliance. Naturally, Neo Tokyo features prominently as a supporter, joining forces with other big names like Yuga Labs, Pudgy Penguins, and Azuki, to name a few. Read Firestorm’s announcement here.

We've forged another partnership, and this time it's with eBit Casino. This development is fantastic for the $BYTES ecosystem, as our native token will now be seamlessly integrated into all of eBit’s live games.

This week’s Degen Digest just dropped, featuring expert Turbo TA on the markets from Shamsi, commentary on the $JUP fallout and other airdrop news from ButWouldYa, and a Mavia review from ZeHI Jr, aka, StArZ. What’s more, it looks like there’s a new segment: “Rug Watch.” Oh boy, we will never run out of subject matter for this one.

Our special guest this past week on NFT Market Monday was Virtue Poker to discuss the week's news and fill us in on what’s going on over at VP HQ. These Market Monday Spaces are getting better each week, with immaculate vibes and flowing conversation. Check out this past episode here, and don’t forget to tune in each week, we’re always giving away free stuff.

Last week, we hosted a special AMA with Noderunners, and they were also featured in our newsletter with an informative introduction spotlight from Flower83. If you prefer digesting information in thread format, check that out below:

Amidst the rising interest in GambleFi narratives and the heated landscape of web3 gaming, Virtue Poker emerges as another project building in this niche that is coming from Neo Tokyo. Virtue Poker is pioneering a new era of online poker, integrating web3 technology with traditional gaming models. Driven by a mission to establish a globally accessible poker platform, Virtue Poker embodies years of dedicated effort, learning by trial and error, and strategic adaptation to the realm of online gambling.

At the helm of Virtue Poker is CEO and Founder Ryan Gittleson, who’s persistence and vision has guided the platform's evolution for seven years. He is supported by a team of experienced developers from Monadical, who oversee the backend and software development of Virtue Poker.

What sets Virtue Poker apart from traditional poker sites?

At the core of Virtue Poker's platform lies the ability to token-gate events and create custom tournaments, empowering users to truly tailor their poker experience to their preferences.

This unique feature allows players to utilize both erc-20 tokens as well as NFTs to access exclusive events, in a way that is smooth and verifiable on-chain.

Depending on whether you're a seasoned poker player or a newcomer to the game, Virtue Poker offers the ability to create a custom-made tournament structure from scratch or you can simply customize an event based on the desired duration.

  • Community Unionization Options, facilitating collaboration between different NFT communities through crossover events or multi-community club unions

  • Scalable MTTs capable of accommodating tournaments with over 1000 players, ensuring smooth gameplay even at large-scale events.

Virtue Poker is actively looking for collaboration with various NFT communities.

There have been numerous communities hosting events on the platform, such as NeoTokyo, This Thing Of Ours, Rug Radio, ETHDenver, Decontrol Games, Skult, and The Kingdom.

These communities are not limited only to Ethereum, since there are currently many EVM chains as well as Solana and BTC, that are integrated on the Virtue Poker platform, with plans to expand further.

The Exit Strategy

Your “bags” (crypto bags lol) are packed! You did this during the dreaded bear market at rock bottom prices any rookie wouldn’t dare touch. You are primed and ready for the upcoming bull run… but are you really prepared? In order to realize any gains in your portfolio, you MUST sell at some point. But how are you going to approach this? What is your exit strategy?

In this short article, we will take a look at ideas you may want to consider in devising your own exit plan. This is by no means financial advice. This article is the start of the contemplation phase of coming up with your own exit strategy (if you don’t already). If you have one, maybe there is something here you didn’t consider? Either way, the plan is absolutely 100% a must-have to realize those upcoming monster gains!!

1. Define Your Investment Goals: Begin by clarifying your investment objectives. Are you seeking short-term gains or aiming for long-term growth? There are tax implications for either. Understanding your goals will shape your exit strategy.

2. Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) Out: We all know about DCA-ing into our positions, but have you considered your DCA-out plan? Consider implementing a dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategy to exit your cryptocurrency investments gradually.

Here is an example: sell 25% at a 5x from bottom prices, then another 25% at former all-time high, then another 25% at a 50% gain on top of the all-time high, then the last 25% at…you decide. Another example would be selling 15% each month after the halving. The plan is completely up to you, but you must be thinking about this NOW. This approach can help mitigate the impact of short-term volatility and reduce the risk of mistiming the market.

3. Identify Exit Points: Set clear exit points based on price targets and market dynamics. Consider selling a portion of your holdings when prices reach former all-time highs or significant resistance levels. This strategy allows you to lock in profits while retaining exposure to potential upside movements

4. Fading Narratives: Keep a close eye on prevailing narratives and trends within the crypto space. As narratives evolve and lose relevance, it may be prudent to exit positions associated with fading trends. Be prepared to adjust your plan due to a fading narrative.

5. Stay Informed: Stay abreast of crypto news, market developments, and regulatory updates. Being well-informed empowers you to make good decisions and adapt your exit strategy to evolving market conditions.

6. Regularly Review and Adjust (if needed): Periodically review and reassess your exit strategy to ensure it remains aligned with your investment goals and risk tolerance. Be flexible and willing to adjust your approach based on changing market dynamics and personal circumstances. This isn’t to say you will have to change your plan, but regularly reviewing your plan may reveal the need to do so. We must be vigilant!

7. Avoid Emotional Trading: Emotions such as fear and greed can cloud judgment and lead to impulsive decision-making. Stick to your predetermined exit strategy and avoid making rash decisions driven by emotions. Discipline and patience are key virtues in navigating the crypto markets. Do some research on how emotions can impact our decisions, ESPECIALLY, when our money is on the line.

Having an exit strategy is ESSENTIAL! Take the time to devise your own plan. Start this now! Don’t be the story of the guy, or girl, who made millions, only to have lost it all because they never realized those gains!
