This Week in Neo Tokyo

The wait is finally over! The new appointments for the Neo Tokyo Community Leads team was announced this past week, and what a roster of powerhouses we have at the helm leading us into this bright new era!

A hearty congratulations to fauve, who was selected to fill the one remaining seat on the Leads team. Fauve has actively contributed to various NT initiatives since our digital journey commenced in this fair city, and has won the hearts and minds of citizens with his thoughtful contributions throughout his tenure.

The newly formed Council, who will act as support for the Leads, saw the additions of BenGothard, Crasher, Photoshopped_AF, LeBoomington, block_editor, BlockChainMeta.gg, Ben Swap Fish, Seize, butwouldya, and Metro. Again, a warm congratulations to all of those who made the cut!

However, to those who didn’t, Firestorm implores everyone to “stay engaged and re-apply next quarter as Citizens step down and the team changes. Spots will regularly open up.”

Becker dropped a huge announcement on Wednesday, informing that NT and CitCap have now come to terms on how future investments will run. While the finer details have not yet been released, Becker reiterated the overall vision:

“Our primary goal is to be the #1 place to access these oppurtunities riding into the bull so that citizens and citcap absolutely slay. We are working on other infastructure and applications as well behind the scenes to add immense value to holding/staking bytes for anyone looking to be deeply involved in the gaming crypto space.”

On that very subject, CitCap announced on Sunday their very first collaborative investment opportunity effort with Becker and Ellio: Dr. Disrespect’s Midnight Society! For all the details, check out the announcement here.

Finally, don’t forget that our 15th Community Town Hall will take place Monday, 28 August at 16:00 EST. If you have questions, make sure you take your opportunity to have them heard by filling out the Questions/Suggestions Google form here.

Then, immediately after the Town Hall, join us for another edition of NFT Market Monday. This week, we’ll be joined by the CFO of Enjin.

A Monumental Sale

Now that Azuki has extracted the last remnants of liquidity from the space, and DeGods botched their S3, coupled with most blur token airdrop farmers deciding that the party is now over, it is becoming abundantly clear that the road ahead is bumpy for the NFT space. It isn't looking great out there for PFP NFTs especially. Some are actually at their all-time-lows and the sentiment on my X (formerly Twitter) timeline has been pretty depressing lately.

Thus, the remaining market participants are shifting their focus back to our roots; back to what NFTs used to be all about in the early days. This dynamic has been observed in the past where there is less gambling on animal pictures going on and real art gets the spotlight instead.

This week was no exception where we saw one of the most expensive sales in all of 2023. An art piece created by Sam Spratt, titled “IX - The Monument Game,” sold for a monumental (and meme-worthy price of 420.69 ETH.)

It was bought by 1OF1 Art, who were the highest bidders on Niftygiveaway. On this website, you can zoom into the picture and explore it in detail.

“This is the most intricate piece I’ve ever crafted. I’ve never poured more love, time, and attention into anything.”

~ Spratt.

The Architect’s Radiant Embrace

In the ever-pulsating heart of Neo Tokyo, standing tall against the encroaching shadows, the Architect emerges. With eyes gleaming like twin suns and a voice that sounds like melodies from celestial realms, he proclaims, "Forge your destiny; let your aspirations soar in the boundless cyberspace."

Swayed by the promise of a golden horizon, many citizens gravitate towards the Architect’s radiant embrace. Driven by dreams of grandeur and the allure of endless horizons, these Luminaries believe that every digital endeavor can echo with the beauty of the heavens.

As Neo Tokyo bathes in this divine brilliance, a question persists: Is the Architect's realm truly the sanctuary for eternal prosperity, or does it mask a brilliance too intense to comprehend?
