This Week In Neo Tokyo:
See You On the Other Side
The Citadel experienced a relatively tranquil week as we bring 2023 to a close, likely due to many still being in holiday mode. A well-deserved break after the busy year of relentless winning we’ve had.
Let's catch up on the week's events:
First and foremost, heartfelt congratulations to Becker on the engagement! It confirms what many of us suspected all along - underneath that no bs, hard-ass, Dark Lord gimmick, lies a gentle, romantic soul. Knew it! We all wish you both a lifetime of blessings and happiness.
She said yes btw 🐆🦁

The NT Founders-Pings channel has been buzzing with activity. There have been updates from the likes of rawcat of Champz, daimondexe of PipeAliens, Metro sparking some rumors and innuendo in MintDefense’s 2023 recap, an update from Beaver about Kosmos (now known as Twigg), Winston updating on IMPAKT, and Lex Avellino with a note on Passage.

A standout Founder Update came from NGMI Lab, releasing exclusive reports on the S1 and S2 Citizen collections of Neo Tokyo. The report delves into finer details and is brutally honest in all areas. It's a great read for both OGs and newer citizens to better understand The Citadel, and the journey that Neo Tokyo has endured to get to where it is today.
The News Team hosted a special edition NFT Market Moonday on the 26th, featuring the recent CitCap investment opportunity, BloodLoop. Additionally, Episode 8 of Interlinked was released with the Head of Gaming at GAM3S.gg, @yoitsOG, joining the AMA team for a chat.
Now, let's take a look back at some of the highlights from throughout the year, in something I have brilliantly titled:

Bitcoin From 2023 to 2024: Is This a Golden Opportunity?
Understanding the Pulse of Web3
If you want to take the pulse of Web3, start with Bitcoin. As we transition from 2023 into 2024, the cryptocurrency landscape buzzes with excitement — and Bitcoin sits at its throbbing heart. After a year demonstrating resilience, digital gold hints a golden era may dawn. Let's dive into the bullish surge setting the stage for a promising 2024.
2023: A Year of Unprecedented Growth
The Rally That Shook Markets: Bitcoin and Ethereum saw massive rallies. Prices soared, capturing seasoned investors and crypto-curious alike.
Inflation Hedge Narrative: Geopolitics and economic uncertainty nudged investors toward cryptocurrencies. Revered as digital gold, Bitcoin became an inflation haven - reinforcing its place in diversified portfolios.
The Institutional Embrace
Big Players Making Bigger Moves: 2023 saw institutions get serious with Bitcoin. MicroStrategy continued aggressive acquisition while ETF approval whispers stirred markets.
A Ripple Effect: Institutional acceptance legitimized crypto as an asset class. This ripple effect encouraged broader investment consideration.
Looking Ahead to 2024
The Halving Horizon: The 2024 Bitcoin halving event looms large. Historically catalysts for significant price surges, anticipation alone signals bullishness.
Institutional Influx Continues: The institutional buy-in trend expects to continue, possibly at an accelerated pace. Each new player brings not just capital but further embeds Bitcoin into the financial mainstream.
BTC: The Market Bellwether
Bitcoin leads the crypto market pack. Any bullish Bitcoin trends should lift niche tokens along with it. Edging toward 2024, optimism isn't just hopeful; it is grounded in 2023's growth, broader acceptance, and a maturing market. Whether investor, enthusiast, or crypto-curious, Bitcoin remains the beacon guiding digital asset trajectories. As 2023 sunsets and 2024 dawns, one thing is clear: Bitcoin's best may still lie ahead.
The Future Looks Bright
Another volatile year!
It seems we heard the phrases “NFTs are dead” and “we are so back” dozens of times throughout the recent year.
When 2022 was ending, the vibes were really low and we entered 2023 without much optimism. Articles like this plagued mainstream media, and the market prices agreed with the doom and gloom they peddled.
Then, we got a few more of these along the way. But surprisingly, each time that they called NFTs dead, it seemed to mark a local bottom as we had a few strong rallies after these articles were released. That one by Rolling Stone, for example, was timed perfectly with a relief rally right after.
Now, things have turned around quite a bit and at the end of the year, when all is said and done, NFTs are arguably thriving again with the markets looking bullish after successfully weathering the storm.
If you are still here and have made it this far with all of us, and you have stuck with your high conviction plays, you deserve prosperity.
I am very excited to be a part of this journey of “investing” into one of the most niche (and hated) financial markets. I truly believe that the worst is behind us, and that 2024 will blossom with bullish price action in many crypto sectors.
The future looks bright.
