This Week In Neo Tokyo:
$BYTES to a Market Cap That Looks Like a Glitch
It’s May already. Crazy. Before we know it, it’ll be Neo Tokyo’s 4th anniversary. Four years of building from the ground up, and in some cases, rebuilding from the ashes left behind by metaphorical nuclear explosions.
Others promised vaporware - they vanished.
We built a digital city - construction never ends.
Grand Rising, Citizens!

As reported a few issues back, BYTES utility for meatbags is coming soon, and it’s been heavily implied that ByteStreet will be one of the ways it arrives. While we wait for ByteStreet though, which I’ve been reliably informed by the Gods in a vision is two weeks away, meatbag BYTES utility is already here in various forms.
With NT Plays, metabags need just 10 BYTES to enter events and be eligible for prizes. If a meatbag is good enough, it’s entirely possible they could keep winning, stacking enough ETH to buy an S2. Something to consider if you think you’re priced out.
Citizens like LeBoomington and Photoshopped AF are also running Art For Bytes — offering their skills for all your art needs. Custom GIFs, memes, comic strips, banners, or whatever else you need.
And this is just the beginning. Better to grab some now at $3 than wait until the $200 prophecy is fulfilled.
On the topic of NT Plays, there are more updates on the excellent work from Haji, ThaiViking, DylanDaVillain, and LeBoom, helping grow NT Plays into what’s fast becoming the premier hub for crypto gamers. Read the update in full here.
This Week’s Neo Tokyo Content
Interlinked #79
Ben and Cryptoetheus are joined by Michael Sanders this week, the Co-Founder of Sequence, the all-in-one dev platform for chains, games, and apps.
They talk about why user experience is key to digital ownership, referencing changes in Riot Games’ terms of service. They also dig into the challenge of balancing the needs of gamers, investors, and speculators. Not an easy one! Additionally, the excitement around the recent Pokemon IP news.

Market Monday #121
The old favorite “Battle for $100K” returned this Monday, and praise be that we’re talking about that again! Since then, the battle has been won, but has the war? Can we hold above it? That’s one for MM #122.
Other topics this week included $DOOD, “wen alt szn?” and we had the embodiment of what a Neo Tokyo success story looks like on as a guest, Mr. Felix Norden, discussing AI news and agentic collaboration with Eden Layer.

NT x Unfungible Space #31
Later today, the panel will tackle a big question: where should games be built for mobile?
In 2023, approximately 79% of gamers worldwide played games on mobile devices, with 35% exclusively using mobile platforms. Furthermore, mobile gaming accounts for about 50% of global gaming revenue.
The stats scream “yes,” but tune in to hear what the panel thinks. Set your reminder or listen back here.

TrenchBot AMA
HenryTheGrape joins the AMA crew to talk about the Discord trading bot that Citizens now have access to! TrenchBot offers instant trade execution, deep analysis, custom settings, portfolio tracking, and multi-chain support. If Telegram bots aren’t your thing, this very well might be.
And thanks to the Neo Tokyo Outreach team, here’s all you need to know about how to get started:
We're excited to provide Citizens access to TrenchBot, in collaboration with our OG NFT friends @CyberKongz!
Now available in our Discord Trading Division.

Short-ish Scoops
“Neo Tokyo gives what you put back in.” Just one of the many quotable moments from Felix’s spotlight on his NT journey.
It’s a great look at what is possible here, and like many before him writing these testimonials, the takeaway is simple: “The real ROI came from building.” There’s much solid advice to be found in the post below:

Neo Tokyo played a key role in establishing my Web3 career. Early on, I found co-founders, clients, and lifelong friends through the community. The initial value came from the network. The real ROI came from building. Here’s how @NeoTokyoCode became the foundation for what

To add further on this, and after reading Felix’s story, I’ve long thought gated NFT communities like this one are a legit alternative to the traditional education or apprenticeship routes we’ve been conditioned to believe are the right (and only) path to take.
Felix and others no doubt came here with plenty of qualifications already under their belt, but if given the choice between university or something like Neo Tokyo for my children when they grow up a bit, I’d be more inclined to get them a Citizen, and have them networking and learning skills from successful people in a range of industries. Anyone else feel this way?

NT Plays is back later today with a game that’s close to many Citizens’ hearts, Impostors, from our very own founder Ellio. Then on Sunday, we’re diving back into Raven Quest to quest and chill.
Everything you need to get involved is in this thread:

Here’s a testimonial from last week’s MPH event, where Imperium came out in the money. GG.
I would like to thank @NeoTokyoPlays and @mypethooligan for a great tournament.
It was a great time. A great atmosphere and fun craziness were combined in Discord. 😈I even managed to get into the top 16 winners.
P.S. 10 participants in one lobby is the golden mean

$BYTES Bullposting
Remember who was bullposting no matter what the price was. Remember to celebrate them when the time comes. When is that? You’ll just know. It will be one of those moments that is so ridiculous it can’t be anything else.
$BYTES to a market cap that looks like a glitch.
A number so high it makes people think there’s a decimal in the wrong place. Something so absurd it borders on comedy. That’s when you’ll know.
Ktrap, the BYTES stats cruncher-in-chief, dropped his latest update yesterday. All the core metrics on Citizen floors and BYTES counts are in there.

And RoundTripKing, I hope you’re making plans to change that handle, because when $BYTES hits what it’s going to hit, roundtripping will not be conceivable even if you actively try to.
It’ll go so high it will be physically impossible to roundtrip from an entry this low. I have run the numbers and your forecast of 100x is correct as an inevitable base figure.
Fucking violent up only and extreme eth outperformance.
My $bytes bag will 100x this cycle it’s inevitable.

Until next next week, citizens.
ETH Pumping:
The Last Prerequisite For a Long & Painful Bear Market Ahead
This clearly manipulated scam pump we had to endure for the past two days was a bit unexpected, I admit. But, you know how the professionals say: “I am not a bad trader, it's the markets that are wrong.”
Nobody expected everyone to FOMO so aggressively into all coins for one last rally before everything goes permanently to the grave.
Anyway, lets objectively look at the facts:
Every bullrun, historically speaking, has ended up with BTC running off first, cooling down, then ETH doing a new ATH rally that resulted in a blow-off top. Then, some alts briefly ran, and then it was truly over. There is no reason to expect it will be different this time around.
In fact, I’d say it's gonna end even worse. This time it's unlikely ETH makes a new ATH before it's all over.We pumped too fast and too aggressively. The past two daily candles look scary and unnatural. There was no support built on the way up, and, conversely there is a lot of resistance. Nobody should be surprised if we end up back below 2K rather soon.
ETH is still cooked. Let us not forget the simple fact most of us were buying it much higher. Not a time for a victory lap just yet, in my opinion.
Newsflash! ETH has definitely NOT been outperforming. Why do people only use that popular statement of “zoom out” when it suits their bullish narrative?
1st time BTC hits $100k,ETH is at $4k.
2nd time BTC hits 100k,ETH is at $3.9k
3rd time BTC hits $100k,ETH is at $3.7k.
4th time BTC hits $100k,ETH is at $3.4k.
5th time BTC hits $100k ,ETH is at $3k
6th time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $2.8k
7th time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $2.7k— Molly (@bigmagicdao)

Stop coping, you top buyers, you. We can see through it.
The sad part is that we still have to double ETH’s price if we want to go back to all time highs. During this pump, some other headlines were nice to see, however:
JUST IN: $235,000,000,000 added to the cryptocurrency market today.

JUST IN: $830 million worth of cryptocurrency shorts liquidated in the past 24 hours.

Even though these recent moves seem sketchy to me, and just reek of desperate market manipulation, it might also mean renewed strength and conviction in the market.
So we might have to endure this disgusting bullishness on our Twitter and Discord timelines for a bit longer.
If this is indeed the case, how this will affect NFTs is the thing I am most interested in. We will see how this plays out.
See you soon.
