This Week In Neo Tokyo:
With Friends Like These
The Citadel Cannot Be Stopped
"*rings gong* Neo Tokyo S1 has been relisted on OpenSea. There's NO STOPPING this train. Big shoutout to the team at OS for fixing the situation quickly."
Those words of victory were shared by Ellio early yesterday morning, announcing that S1 Citizens were once again tradable. If you're out of the loop, you're probably wondering what led to this punishment? Well, we can reliably inform you that... nobody knows. The best guess of many is “OpenSea doing OpenSea things.”
Nevertheless, it's all figured out now, so all's well that ends well. A big thanks must go to the powerhouses at Altura for stepping in while the chaos was raging, providing us with a new marketplace - a true testament to the strength of the decentralized force that Neo Tokyo has become. With friends like these, The Citadel cannot be stopped.
An Important Security Alert
There’s no stopping the Guardians of The Citadel, MintDefense, either. Early on Tuesday, a security alert was released by @thirdweb describing a vulnerability affecting some of their pre-built smart contracts.
How does this affect you? There are a few concerns, and it's an issue you should tend to right away. Read what action needs to be taken via MintDefense’s X post here.
Another Packed Week
CitCap has been busy as ever, closing a massive $777,777 investment round with Citizen Loopify’s Endless Clouds! What's more, there's a PYR Elysium Node update for those who have invested and for those who are still looking to get in. Read bing’s statement in full here.
The Citadel Award winners were announced during our most recent Town Hall last week, with WhiteCoco4U (Best Alpha), SunnyP - MAVIA (Best Game), Damon (Most Helpful), Danor (Most Innovative), JeffTreves (Best Creative), BenGothard (Rookie of the Year), Race4TheWin (Top Recruiter), and FelixNorden (Best Developer).
Congrats to all our winners there, and you can listen back to the TownHall in full within the vc-archive channel; likewise, that’s also the place to recap the 12/1 Founders Roundtable with special guests Shrapnel, Altura, and Pixels Online.
The News team were joined by Hustlepedia this past Monday for a banger space in which our Flower83 dubbed it “right up there in the top 5 of all time.” Well worth a listen back if you missed it. Additionally, congratulations to MHL Solutions on the 1 year anniversary - listen to the recording of the X Space celebration here.
Meanwhile, Ben and Cryptoetheus of the Interlinked team have been talking to some of the most interesting names in Web3, such as Overworld, Altura, and Cere; the latter of which we saw a big partnership announcement with for The Citadel at the start of the week.
This initiative will “facilitate builders' access to grant programs offered by key partners in the space,” Firestorm informed us on Monday. Are you a Citizen Founder and interested to see if this could benefit you and your project? Check out the full details here.
New Arrivals and a Warm Welcome Back
Drawing to a close, we welcome our two newest citizens, two absolute heavyweights of the scene that further solidifies Neo Tokyo’s drawing power in the crypto gaming space.
Founder of Gala Games, @BitBenderBrink, is now with us, and you can give him a warm welcome here. Secondly, the founder of Star Atlas, @at_mwagner, has joined us with one of the HARDEST looking S1 Elites. Go compliment him on that Buster Sword here. Nice to have you both with us!
Finally, if you missed what happened in the month of November, or you just want to reminisce fondly on what a successful series of wins we had (and who could blame you, the dopamine hit was filthy), be sure to check out our November highlight reel, narrated by the Voice of the Citadel, Shamsi and put together by BadFuture, MusicMainnet, LeBoomington, and NeoSoir.
Until next week, citizens.

Get Your Airdrops!
Ah, yes, “Airdrop Farming” - THE activity you should be doing during the bear… besides building, of course. Except, nobody consistently farms until it's already a bull market, or at least, when things heat up enough to finally get your attention.
Remember last cycle? When people got around 400 $UNI tokens just from interacting with Uniswap before DeFi and on-chain DEXs got big? Or how about earlier this year when people got up to 2000 $ARB for a few swaps on L2?
In the past couple of weeks with $MEME, $PYTH and $BLUR all airdropping 5 figures equivalent of USD to those who were involved, things are heating up again. In my opinion, this is one of the most asymmetrical bets you can make in crypto currently! After 2-5 years, I expect the airdrop meta to not be as good in terms of potential ROI because the space is already getting cluttered with professional airdrop farmers and large scale botting.
So which airdrops are coming? I suggest you do not chase the hyped flavor of the months, but instead focus on the long term. Target L2 chains (Ethereum scaling solutions) that received massive funding from reputable investors like Coinbase, Sequoia Capital, OpenSea Ventures, and so on.

As you can see, some of these projects received some serious money for development, and they will distribute a portion of those funds to wallets that interact with their blockchain.
The basic strategy for farming airdrops is very simple. Your goal is to simply bridge some ETH from mainnet (or other L2’s) to any of the chains that still have to drop their token, and then maximize the following:
transaction count (higher count usually means more points)
volume (the bigger the better)
consistency (interacting with the blockchain every month is good)
wallet age (they like to reward early adopters).
Optionally, you can spice it up by:
minting or buying NFTs
setting up domains
bridging to other chains
staking tokens
filling liquidity pools
voting on DAO proposals
For each of these actions there are tons of protocols you can use. For example Merkly and DappGate offer a variety of functionalities (minting non-fungible and fungible tokens, bridging tokens, gas refills, and even deploying contracts).
Then, we have countless DEX’s where you can swap and provide liquidity on, like SyncSwap, Izumi, KyberSwap, VeloCore, Mute, SpaceFi, to name a few. Most of them operate cross-chain.
There are even some third party bridges popping up (Orbiter, LayerSwap, OmniBTC.) They usually work faster and cheaper than official bridges, and some of them are promising a token airdrop as well.
This is just a sneak peak. If you want to know more, or discuss airdrop tips and tricks in general, my DM’s are open. You can also do your own research. There are tons of good airdrop guides both on Twitter and YouTube, as well as in Discords made specifically for airdrop alpha made by NT Citizens.
None of this is financial advice. Happy farming.

In the halls of The Citadel, Chr0nicle, a seasoned leader and community lead at Neo Tokyo, stands out as a key player with a rich background in healthcare consulting. As a tech junkie, he always stayed on top of new trends and when the crypto world came on his radar in 2017, he dove right in.
When he discovered Becker and Ellio, Neo Tokyo became one of his next targets. As a Day 1 minter, Chr0nicle experienced the many trials, tribulations, and traumas of the first riddles, but ultimately built a shared experience and a tight network that he saw a lot of potential in.
Currently he spreads his time across a large sphere. When he’s not working as a Healthcare Consultant, he spends a lot of his time in the Outreach department. Building opportunities for citizens is his expertise and focus. He also met Bleedkale in Neo Tokyo and now serves as a Web3 strategist for Upticc.
If that wasn’t enough, Chr0nicle has also launched his own project Nucleus Codes, a CRM connection platform for the Web3 audience. After facilitating networks and communities for 2 years, he realized he could provide this as a service to help project founders communicate with each other across communities.
Chronicle's strategic approach to onboarding projects unveils their focus on data and analytics. By analyzing community holder patterns, Chronicle gains valuable insights into the community's composition and collaboration performance. The envisioned platform, Nucleus, aims to provide both on-chain and off-chain data analytics, incorporating Twitter data for targeted marketing to potential holders.
Chronicle joined the leads to continue the work he already started in the early days. He saw the potential of Neo Tokyo early on and helped shape it to what it is today and plans on continuing to do so, saying we are “on the right track to achieve our milestones and goals.”
